Development of baseline conceptual models for permanent/intermittent groundwater and surface water pools in the Pilbara. The project included pool and creek installations, the interpretation of historic data and the development of a pool classification system. Outcomes have helped guide pool management and monitoring.
Long-term water supply diversification project for an operating power station. Personnel completed a robust water source assessment, including identifying, evaluating, and ranking potential water sources within 100 km of operations. The preferred water source was developed as a groundwater borefield.
Assessments to support the development of a large open-cut and underground gold mine. Tasks included a desktop water assessment, water balance development, site investigations (production bore drilling, pump testing), development of conceptual & numerical model(s) to inform dewatering and depressurisation design.
Design and implementation of site investigations to characterise a fractured rock/palaeochannel aquifer system. Following characterisation, assessments were completed to determine recharge mechanisms and recharge rates from a tailings storage facility, and the design and implementation of seepage recovery strategies.
Design and implementation of ex-pit production bore dewatering borefield. This project also included an operational review of monitoring and bore performance metrics to optimise dewatering bore performance, long-term operational drawdown and future borefield design.
